DHAKA: Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina on Thursday said her invitation to BNP Chairperson Khaleda Zia for talks is still valid and she would not call opposition leader again.

The premier came up with the disclosure while addressing a meeting with top business leaders at her office started around 11.00am.

FBCCI President Kazi Akram Uddin Ahmed led the business delegation at the meeting in a bid to ease country’s prolonged political dreadlock through a peaceful way.

Former FBCCI presidents and other trade body leaders were present at the meeting.

As part of their efforts to break the country’s prolonged political standstill through a peaceful way, top business leaders met the Prime Minister at her office.

Sources said, business leaders urged Sheikh Hasina to calls Khaleda Zia again but she refused the urge saying, “Khaleda Zia is most welcome for dialogue and I am ready to receive her call.”

While talking on their suggestion on secretary-general level dialogue, Prime Minister expressed no interest in the regard.

Earlier on Sunday, they met BNP Chairperson Khaleda Zia at her Gulshan office and suggested her to sit dialogue in secretary general-level to reach a consensus over an interim cabinet to oversee the next polls.
