DHAKA: Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina, also ruling Awami League president, on Saturday sought vote for Awami League in the next general elections.
“Make a commitment by raising hands that you will cast vote for Awami League in the next general elections,” she indicating her audience.
The premier came up with the plea while addressing a mass rally at Moulvibazar Barlekha Degree College field in the afternoon.
Sheikh Hasina also told her audience that the incumbent government developed many sectors, including education and mobile technologies.
The AL chief alleged that BNP-Jamaat alliance killed innocent people during hartal: “They are also working against anti-Islamic sentiment,” she said.
Sheikh Hasina told her audience: “I want to fulfill my father’s dream by developing the country. Awami League government has given priority to country’s education sector and become success.”
The prime minister claimed that when BNP government was in power, the country was in a dark situation and they did not develop the country.
She added: “We have made Madhabkunda as tourist area including many development works. If Awami League assumes power once again Barlekha Degree College will be a government institution.”
She also said, “Awami League brought country’s liberation. So, it wants better future of it. A separate ministry has formed for better service for railway. We developed many sector in Haor region.”
“We will take necessary steps to build industrial area in the district. Awami League will do more development works if it is voted to power again.”
“If we go in power in next time we will supply power to every house. Solar system will be the alternative way if necessary.”
“I requested Khaleda not to call hartal form November 4 as JSC and JDC examinations were scheduled to start from that day, but, she refused and called again 7 days hartal in two phases,” she alleged.
The prime minister also said, “We promised for Digital Bangladesh and for the government distributed 40 crore books to the students free of cost, built 14,000 health centers, 4,500 union information centers.”
