JAHANGIRNAGAR UNIVERSITY: A platform, consist of teachers, students, officers and employees of Jahangirnagar University (JU) confined two pro vice-chancellors of the varsity demanding stay of teacher representative election to senate.

The pro vice-chancellors are professor MA Matin and Afsar Ahmed.

Sources said agitating teachers, students, officers and employees went to the pro vice-chancellors office and demanded stay of senate election.

When pro vice-chancellors denied submitting their proposal they confined the two pro vice-chancellors.

The platform also declared that they would not run administrative activities until their demand is met.

JU authority fixed December 7 for holding election of 33 teachers representative to senate.
