China has welcomed Bangladesh to participate in the Global Governance Initiative (GGI), aimed at fostering a more just and equitable global governance system, Chinese Ambassador Yao Wen said on Monday. 

The initiative, launched by President Xi Jinping, seeks to offer a "Chinese solution" to global governance challenges.

During a meeting with Foreign Secretary Asad Alam Siam in Dhaka, Ambassador Yao highlighted the strong momentum in Bangladesh-China relations and expressed readiness to deepen cooperation. 

Both sides discussed bilateral ties, regional and international issues, and practical cooperation under the GGI framework.

Foreign Secretary Siam appreciated the initiative, calling it a timely contribution to addressing global challenges, and reaffirmed Bangladesh’s commitment to strengthening collaboration with China for mutual benefit.
