BNP-cop clash kills one in Sirajganj

SIRAJGANJ: A passer-by was killed in a clash between leaders-activists of opposition BNP and law enforcers in Jogai intersection of the district town on Tuesday morning, the first day of 48-hour blockade.

The deceased was identified as Sakman Hossain, 35, a mason of the area.

Witnesses said leaders-activists of opposition BNP and law enforcers locked in a clash at around 8:30am during picketing in support of blockade. At one stage, a tear shell hit Sakman and fell into a roadside pond.

Later, locals rescued him and rushed him to District Sadar Hospital where duty doctor declared him dead.
