72-hr blockade begins amid blasts

DHAKA: The third spell 72-hour blockade, called by BNP-led 18-party alliance, is underway across the country amid stray incidents of blasts and arson.

Shibir men brought out a brisk procession in city Rampura Bridge area at around 6:00am and blasted eight cocktails.

None was reportedly injured in the incident.

Besides, five Shibir men were held with cocktails five cocktails in capital’s Banasree and Gabtoli areas at around 7:30am.  

Meanwhile, Shibir men set fire at roads pouring petrol in Khilgaon area at around 7:30am.

The road-railways and waterways will remain under blockade from 6:00am Saturday and 6:00am Tuesday.

The opposition alliance is enforcing the country paralyzing demonstration demanding cancellation polls schedule and restoration of caretaker government and release of its leaders.
