Two people were killed after a car hit a traffic divider and overturned on the Dhaka-Tangail Highway in Gazipur on early Sunday (December 10).

The deceased were Abu Taher, 52, of Noakhali’s Sonaimuri upazila, and Ibrahim, 52, of Lakshmipur Sadar upazila.

Shahadat Hossain, officer-in-charge of Naojor highway police station, confirmed the matter.

He said a Dhaka-bound car hit the traffic divider in Palli Bidyut area at Kaliakair upazila around 4am, leaving two people in the car dead on the spot.

On information, the police recovered the bodies and sent them to Shaheed Tajuddin Ahmad Medical College and Hospital morgue for autopsy, the OC added.
