Rohingya teacher shot dead in Ukhiya camp

A Rohingya teacher was shot dead by miscreants at Kutupalong refugee camp in Cox’s Bazar Ukhiya.

The incident happened at Kutupalong Camp-4, D/8 Block on Thursday (January 4) around 8 pm.

The deceased Mohammod Faisal, 27, was a teacher of learning coaching centre.

According to the Rohingyas, three to four months ago, Faisal came from Malaysia and was living with his family in the Rohingya camp. Later started teaching Rohingya children. Miscreants abducted him from the learning center while he was teaching on Thursday evening. Later, after being shot dead, miscreants left the body near the graveyard and fled.

Shamim Hossain, Officer-in-Charge (OC) of Ukhia Police Station confirmed the matter.

Legal action in this regard is under process, the official added.
