At least three people were killed, and several others injured after a dump truck and a pickup van collided head-on in Manda upazila of Naogaon.

The incident happened around 9:30pm on Tuesday. 

The identities of the deceased could not be ascertained immediately.

Manda police station Officer-in-Charge (OC) Mozammel Haque Kazi confirmed the matter to Banglanews.

He said the pickup carrying workers was heading towards Rajshahi at night when it collided with a speeding dump truck coming from the opposite direction.

One person died on the spot. Several more were sent to a local hospital, where two people died, he said.

Police were sent to the spot after being informed by the locals, he added.
