Law enforcers are still unsure of the source of the brick-shaped concrete block that directly fell on the head of Assistant Director of Bangladesh Bank (BB) Dipanwita Biswas Dipu Sana at Mouchank in Ramna of the capital on Wednesday evening, leaving her dead.

Mozammel Hossain, sub-inspector of Ramna Model Police Station, said that there is no under-construction building at the incident spot.

“Fakhruddin Patry Centre is located along the spot. But it could not be possible to confirm from where the block fell, even after scrutinising a video that shows the scene of the concrete block falling.”

“The block, for which the banker died, is a grooved block. It is mainly used in constructing sidewalks or footpaths.”

Dipanwita, the wife of another BB officer Tarun Biswas, came under the block hit while she was walking along the road to reach her residence at Mouchak.

Tarun filed a murder case against unknown people with Ramna Model Police Station on Thursday.
