Bashundhara Group has distributed 7,000 more blankets among cold-hit people in Rupganj upazila of Narayanganj today (Jan 16).
On behalf of the Group, Director of East West Media Group and Editor-in-Chief of Kaler Kantho Imdadul Haq Milan was present at the blanket distribution ceremony in the upazila’s three spots.
The three areas are - Kanchan's Kendua Mughal Bagan Bari, Atlapur and Purbachal Sector 21 in front of Rajuk’s Office.
East West Property Development (EWPD) Senior Executive Director Liakat Hossain and Senior General Manager Abu Hena, Kanchan Municipality Mayor Rafiqul Islam Rafiq and local public representatives were present among other local dignitaries.
Addressing the programme, Imdadul Haq Milan said Bashundhara Group always stands by the poor during winter or other calamities.
“Today we are distributing seven thousand blankets here, also distributing in other parts of the country. Every year Bashundhara Group distributes two to three lakh blankets across the country so that people do not suffer during winter,” he said.
Imdadul Haq Milan said, “Our aim is no one should suffer in this winter. The reason for choosing Rupganj area is that our Bashundhara group is very close to this area. We consider the people of this area as our own people. We are distributing these blankets so that no people in our area suffer.”
He also said, “We want to say very clearly, if any talented student of this area comes to us for education, it is our responsibility to educate them for rest of the life.”
“If a poor cannot get treatment, the responsibility of treatment will be taken, he said, adding we want to do a lot of work in this area. Bashundhara works for the welfare of the country and people,” he said.
“We are distributing blankets here so that not a single person in this area should be in trouble and will do many more such things so that the people here can live happily,” he added.
On Monday, Bashundhara Group, has distributed 10,000 blankets among cold-hit people in Kayetpara union of Rupganj upazila of Narayanganj.
