At least four people were killed, and five others injured in a road accident in Kharakandi area of Bhanga Upazila of Faridpur on Friday (January 19).

Of the deceased three identified as Mehdi Matubbar, 25, son of Abu Sayeed of Aruakandi of Bhangar, Hafizul Islam Habu, 40, son of late Moazzem of Nowakanda and Sirajul Islam, of Madhukhali Upazila of the district.

The identities of the injured could not be known immediately. 

However, two of the injured have been rushed to Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujib Medical College Hospital in Faridpur as their condition is critical.

According to locals, there was a head-on collision between a Dhaka-bound Sohag Paribahan bus and a Gopalganj-bound Laguna on Dhaka-Khulna highway around 7 pm.

Officer-in-Charge (OC) of Bhanga police station Abu Saeed Mohammad Khairul Anam confirmed the matter to Banglanews.
