A man and his son were killed in a collision between a motorbike and a three-wheeler, on Sonahat land port road in Bhurungamari upazila of Kurigram on Sunday (January 21) morning.

The accident happened when the three-wheeler crashed into the motorcycle coming from the opposite direction in Patershawari area, leaving the two critically injured, they said.

The deceased were identified as Shahidul Islam, 46, and his son Biplob Hasan, 24, hailing from Sarkartari village of the upazila.

According to locals, the victims riding on the bike were going to their village home from Bhurungamari upazila sadar in the morning.

They were rushed to Bhurungamari Upazila Health Complex where physicians declared them dead upon arrival, said locals.

Bhurungamari police station’s Officer-in-Charge Ruhul Amin confirming the matter said poor visibility caused by dense fog might be the reason behind the accident.
