The Dhaka Metropolitan Police (DMP) in different operations in the last 24 hours till 6 am Wednesday (Jan 24) arrested 45 persons for their alleged involvement in selling and consuming drugs.

Being informed, the DMP’s police and detective units conducted the anti-drug campaign in the city’s various areas, seizing drugs and arresting drug sellers and abusers, according to a DMP statement.

They seized 3,701 pieces of Yaba tablets, 11.902kg hemp, 93.7gm of heroin, and 70 bottles of local liquor from their possessions, the statement said. 

It also said 34 cases were filed against the detained persons under the Narcotics Control Act.
