A motorcyclist died and another injured after the bike collided with a private car on the Hanif Flyover in Jatrabari area of the capital on Friday (February 2) morning.

The deceased was Md Shahin, 22, a motorcycle mechanic, and injured Md Azim, 20, a motorcycle parts seller.

According to police, the incident happened when the duo was going to Bangshal and a private car crashed their bike. 

Later, locals rescued them and took them to the Dhaka Medical College Hospital where the duty doctor declared Shahin dead.

Inspector Md Bachchu Mia, In-Charge of DMCH Police Outpost, confirmed the matter.

The body is kept at the morgue for autopsy, he added.
