A man died and another injured after a bus hit their motorcycle in Tongi Milgate area on the Dhaka-Mymensingh highway on Friday (February 2) morning.

The deceased was assistant sub-inspector (ASI) Hasan, of Manikganj District Court and the injured was Sub-inspector Amir Hamza, of Manikganj District police control room.

Officer-in-charge of Tongi East Police Station Mostafizur Rahman confirmed the matter. 

He said the accident took place in Tongi Milgate area around 6.30am when a bus of ‘Balaka Paribahan’ rammed the motorcycle while they were on their way to their post at the Ijtema ground.

Hasan succumbed to his injuries while undergoing treatment there and SI Hamza is now undergoing treatment, he said.

They are trying to identified the bus and legal action will be taken in this regard, the official added.
