At least three youths were killed after a truck hit their motorcycle in Bogura’s Kahalu Upazila on Saturday (yesterday). 

The incident happened at Dorgahat area of Bogura- Naogaon regional highway at 8 pm.

The deceased were identified as Rakib Promanik, 17, Mizan, 18, and Torikul Islam, 22. They were carpenter by profession. 

According to police and locals, the three youths were going to Upazila’s Kazipara area around 8 pm. At that time, a Naogaon bound truck hit their motorcycle and escaped the scene. In this incident, two youths died on the spot and Mizan after admitting him to Shaheed Ziaur Rahman Medical College.

Kahalu Police Station Officer-in-Charge (OC) Salim Reza confirmed the matter today (February 4).

The bodies of the three men and their motorcycles are in police custody. The truck driver could not be identified as he sped away, the official added.
