Rapid Action Battalion (RAB) arrested a man allegedly with fake currency of Tk 2.30 lakh from capital’s Kadomtoli area on Thursday (February 16). 

RAB conducted a drive based on secret information and arrested Jisan Hossain Rifat. 

MJ Sohail, RAB-10 Assistant Director confirming the matter said that, during drive fake notes around Tk 2, 30,900 were recovered from Jisan.

He said the arrested person acquired the skill of making fake money by help of various social media platforms.

Later, Jisan joined with social media pages and groups and purchased tools of making fake money, after that he used to print fake notes and supplied through social media network, he said.

Jisan used to supply counterfeit notes in various areas of the capital including Kadmatoli, Jatrabari, Shyampur, Demra and Narayanganj, the officer further said, adding the arrestee used to sell fake notes worth Tk 1 lakh for Tk10-15.
