A total of 64 gold bars, weighing over 7.5 kilograms were seized at Shah Amanat International Airport in Chattogram on Friday (Feb 16) night. 

Shah Amanat International Airport's Director Group Captain Taslim Ahmed confirmed the matter to Banglanews.

Acting on a tip-off, Members of the Customs Intelligence & Investigation Directorate (CIID) and National Security Intelligence (NSI) conducted a raid on the flight (Oman Air's WY 311) and recovered the gold around 9:45 pm, said the official.

However, none was arrested in this connection, he said.

Legal action is being taken regarding the matter, Taslim Ahmed said.
