Three Bangladeshi nationals have been apprehended by the police for allegedly residing illegally in the Vikhroli Park Site area of Mumbai.
The arrests were carried out based on information about the presence of illegal immigrants from Bangladesh near the Lower Depot in the Park Site area of Vikhroli. Acting swiftly upon receiving the information, the police set a trap in the area two days ago and successfully detained all three individuals.
The arrested individuals have been identified as Yusuf Sofan (58), Mominullah Sheikh (52), and Umedullah Noorulhaq (69), according to the police.
Investigations have revealed that Yusuf had entered India a few years ago and his visa expired in 2020. Similarly, Sheikh was found to be residing illegally. Noorulhaq, on the other hand, is believed to have illegally entered India 25 years ago and has been living in Mumbai ever since.
The police suspect that there may be a significant number of Bangladeshi nationals residing illegally in the area and are currently conducting further inquiries.
