A nine-member delegation of the Indian Border Security Force (BSF) led by its Director General (DG) Nitin Agrawal reached Dhaka on Tuesday (March 5) morning to attend the 54th DG-level BGB-BSF border conference.

The event is set to start on March 5 at the Border Guard Bangladesh (BGB) headquarters and will end on March 9.

BGB chief Maj Gen Mohammad Ashrafuzzaman Siddiqui and his wife Naureen Ashraf extended floral greetings and warmly welcomed the Indian delegation along with the BSF DG and his wife Smita Agrawal at Hazrat Shahjalal International Airport, read a press release.

The BSF delegation reached the BGB headquarters in convoy from the airport and paid tribute to the martyrs of the Great Liberation War at “Shimanto Gourab” in the city's Pilkhana area.

On the invitation of Naureen Ashraf, chief patron of the BGB Shimanto Poribar Kalyan Samiti (SHIPKS), a delegation of the BSF Wives Welfare Association (BWWA) also arrived in the capital. 

The delegation will participate in various programmes to be organised by the SHIPKS and the Border Officers Ladies Club, the release read.

The BSF delegation is scheduled to leave for India on March 9.
