At least three people were killed and 25 others injured when a passenger bus overturned in Bhanga upazila of Faridpur on Friday (March 8). 

The accident took place at 2 am at Bablatala Bus Stand in Chumurdi area under the upazila.

Abu Sayed Md Khairul Anam, officer-in-charge of Bhanga Highway Police Station confirmed the matter. 

Of the the deceased one identified as Shafikul Islam Suruj, 45, of Pannduria village in Santhia Upazila of Pabna, OC said. 

He said however, the identities of the other two deceased are yet to be ascertained. 

The Dhaka-bound bus named Imran Travels that left Barishal on Thursday night lost control and overturned on the road, the officer added.  

He alos said that the bus was completely mangled, and the passengers inside were trapped, killing two people at the scene.
