DHAKA: The Federal Government of Germany urged the Bangladesh Government and all political parties to overcome their differences and to work together to bring about inclusive, peaceful and credible democratic elections.

Federal Foreign Office of Germany came up with the urge in a statement on the Bangladeshi Parliamentary Election on January 7.

The statement said that the “Elections in Bangladesh extremely poor reflection of electorate’s will.”

Germany also expressed concern over the number of people killed or injured during the campaign and on the election day.

The statement also said: “We condemn the violence that surrounded the elections and call upon all political forces to refrain from any form of violence and intimidation, especially against religious minorities.”

The Federal Government also urged the Bangladesh Government and all political parties to work together to bring about inclusive, peaceful and credible democratic elections.
