Two people were killed and 15 others injured in two separate road accidents at Ujirpur and Babuganj upazilas in Barishal district on Wednesday.

According to locals, in Ujirpur upazila, a Barishal bound Chaklader Paribahan's passneger bus from Jashore ran over a pedestrian near Sanuhar bus stand area around 1.00pm and overturned  into a roadside ditch, leaving an another passenger of the bus dead on the spot and 15 others critically injured.

Of the deceased one identified as Md. Sumon Sardar son of Bellal Sardar, 15.

Ujirpur Police Station officer-in-charge Md Jafor Ahmed confirmed the matter.

He said the bus driver managed to flee the scene and legal actions were being taken in this regard.
