Burnt driver succumbs at CMCH

CHITTAGONG: An auto-rickshaw driver, who sustained burn injuries in a petrol bomb attack by miscreants in Trunk road area of Feni district on January 4, died at Chittagong Medical College Hospital (CMCH) on Thursday morning.

The deceased was identified as Shahabuddin, 35, an auto-rickshaw driver and son of M.Nurruzzaman hailed from Natunbazar area under Gobindapur union of Feni Sadar.

CHMH police outpost respective constable Md Sarif said to banglanews that Shahabuddin breathed his last at burn unit of the hospital at around 6:00am.

He was undergoing treatment at the hospital with severe burns over more than 40 percent of the total body.

Police sources said that just before a day of 10th election, pouring petrol picketers set fire to CNG-run auto rickshaw in Feni Sadar Tang road area, leaving Shahabuddin burnt.

At first, he was taken to Feni Sadar Hospital and later he was shifted to CHMH.
