DHAKA: Rawshan Ershad, wife of former president HM Ershad, has been elected as leader of the Jatiya Party Parliamentary Party (JPPP).

The decision was taken in a meeting of JPPP at Jatiya Sangshad Bhaban on Thursday.   

Jatiya Party presidium member and its office secretary Tajul Islam Chowdhury confirmed the matter to banglanews.

He also said that some 31 newly elected members of the parliament were present in the meeting.
