Railway Minister Md Zillul Hakim today (March 17) said the government has no plan to increase train fare before the Eid-ul-Fitr.

He confirmed the matter while talking to media in the capital. 

Responding to a question, he said train fares would not be increased before Eid. It will not be increased even in the near future.

Following the reports in several media regarding fare hike, he said that Bangladesh Railway acting director general Sardar Shahadat Ali is not the decision maker. 

He said they would consider the issue after informing people and discussing it with journalists.
