Bangladesh has bagged the 129th spot out of 143 countries in the UN World Happiness Report 2024, which was released on Wednesday (March 20).
According to the report released today, only Afghans are unhappier than Bangladesh in South Asia.
Finland is the happiest country in the world while Afghanistan has been ranked as the unhappiest.
Afghanistan is followed by Lebanon, Lesotho, Sierra Leone, Congo, Zimbabwe, Botswana, and Malawi.
India, Pakistan, Myanmar and Sri Lanka placed 126th, 108th, 118th and 128th respectively while Nepal placed 93rd in the happiness index.
The happiness study ranks the countries of the world on the basis of questions from the Gallup World Poll. The results are then correlated with other factors, including GDP and social security.
