Truck plunge kills 2 in Tangail

TANGAIL: Two men were killed and five others injured after a truck fell into the ditch being knocked by a train in Tenguria area under Basail upazila of the district on Friday morning.

The deceased were identified as Suzat Ali, 36, truck driver and Nizamuddin, 30, worker. Both of them hailed from Sirajganj.

Habla UP Chairman Khurshed Alam said a soil-loaded truck plunged into a ditch after being knocked by Dhaka-bound Rangpur Express train while the truck crossing the rail tracks around 9:45am, leaving two dead on the spot and five injured.

The injured were rushed to Tangail General Hospital and Mirzapur Kumodini Hospital.

Tangail Railway Thana police member Shahadul Islam confirmed the matter to banglanews.
