The price of every vegetable and onion has reduced in Dhaka's kitchen markets due to less demand during the holy month of Ramadan.
However, the price of the chicken remained unchanged.
The information was known upon visiting capital’s Taltola and Shewrapara bazar on Friday (March 22).
According to market, the price of onion has decreased by Tk 20 per kg and is being sold at the rate of Tk 60 due to import from India. However, Indian onion is being sold at Tk 50 to Tk 55 per kg.
The prices of summer vegetables also fell slightly to kachurmukhi 80 taka, brinjal 40 to 60 taka, bitter gourd 70 taka, gourd 70 taka, borage at 120 taka, cucumber 80 taka, khirai 60 taka, each cucurbit is selling at taka 40 to taka 60, papaya taka 50 per kg, dhundul taka 60, chichinga is being sold at Tk 70, jhinga at Tk 80, potal at Tk 80 and sojne at Tk 200 per kg.
In the markets, radishes are being sold at Tk 40 per kg, beans at Tk 40 to Tk 50 per kg, cauliflower at Tk 30 to Tk 40 a piece, cabbage at Tk 30 to Tk 40 a piece, broccoli at Tk 30 a piece, ripe tomatoes at Tk 40 to Tk 60 per kg, carrots at Tk 40 to Tk 40 per kg and potatoes at Tk 40 per kg.
Lemon is sold at Tk 30 to Tk 70, coriander leaves at Tk 200 to Tk 220 per kg, banana at Tk 40 per kg, sweet pumpkin at Tk 40 to Tk 50 per kg and green chillies at Tk 80 to Tk 120 per kg.
Besides, it was seen that red vegetables are being sold at the price of Tk 15, gourd vegetables at Tk 30, radish vegetables at Tk 15, spinach at Tk 10 to Tk 15, Kalmi vegetables at Tk 10.
Meanwhile, Broiler chicken is being sold in the markets at Tk 205 per kg, sonali is selling at Tk 320, sonali Hybrid Tk 300, domestic chicken Tk 680 to Tk 700 per kg, Layer chicken at Tk 295 and White layer at Tk 270.
Besides, beef is being sold at Tk 650 to Tk 750 per kg, beef liver at Tk 750, beef head at Tk 450, beef leg at Tk 350 while mutton at Tk 1050-1100 per kg.
In the markets, a dozen red eggs are being sold at 130 taka, duck eggs at 220 taka, domestic chicken eggs at 85 taka.
On Friday, 400 grams of hilsa fish is being sold at Tk 1,000 per kg in the markets, one kg of horn fish farming (depending on size) is being sold at Tk 350 to Tk 600, the price of Rui fish has increased from Tk 400 to Tk 550 (depending on size), Magur fish from Tk 700 to Tk 1000 per kg, gale at Tk 300 to Tk 450, Pangash at Tk 200 to Tk 220, Prawn at Tk 800 to Tk 1200 per kg, Boalmach at Tk 500 to Tk 900 per kg, Katal at Tk 400 to Tk 600, Poa fish at Tk 400 to Tk 450, Pabda fish at Tk 400 to Tk 450, Tilapia at Tk 220, Koi fish at Tk 220 to Tk 240, Pabda fish at Tk 400 to Tk 450, Tilapia at Tk 220, Kai fish at Tk 220 to Tk 240, Mala at Tk 500, tengra fish 600 to 800 taka, kachki fish 600 taka.
