A motorcyclist was killed after being hit by a truck in Noakhali last night.

The incident happened on the Chatkhil-Dhaka regional highway in front of Masi Bepari's house of Bhimpur area under Chatkhil upazila of the district.

The deceased was identified as Arif Hossain, 20, son of Mohammad Ali, a resident of Hirapur village in Badalkot union of the upazila.

According to police, when Arif was returning home from Chatkhil Bazar riding on the motorcycle, on the way a Ramganj-bound truck coming from the opposite direction hit him around 9:45pm, leaving him dead on the spot. 

Officer-in-charge (OC) of Chatkhil Police Station Muhammad Emdadul Haque confirmed the matter today (March 22).

Police recovered the body from the spot, the OC said.

A case was filed in this connection, he added.
