A fire that broke out at Godown slum in Dhaka's Mohakhali area on Sunday afternoon has been brought under control.

Firefighters were alerted to the incident around 4:05pm, Fire Service Headquarters Media Cell Officer Talha Bini Jasim confirmed.

Six firefighting units reached the spot and tamed the blaze at 5:33pm, it said.

The reason behind the fire could not be known immediately.
