Bangladesh Meteorological Department (BMD) predicted rain or thunder showers accompanied by temporary gusty or squally wind at a few places over six divisions and at one or two places over another two divisions in the next 24-hours beginning from 9am today (March 25).
According to the BMD bulletin, rain or thunder showers accompanied by temporary gusty or squally wind is likely to occur at a few places over Rangpur, Mymensingh, Dhaka, Khulna, Barishal and Sylhet divisions and at one or two places over Rajshahi and Chattogram divisions with hails at isolated places.
Day temperature may remain nearly unchanged and night temperature may fall slightly over the country, it added.
Trough of westerly low lies over West Bengal and the adjoining area. Seasonal low lies over South Bay.
Country's maximum temperature on Sunday was recorded 35.2 degree celsius jointly at Mongla and Jashore while minimum temperature today was recorded 18.2 degree celsius jointly at Dinajpur and Tetulia.
Maximum rainfall for the last twenty-four hours till 6am today was recorded 49 millimeters (mm) at Cumilla.
