The metro rail operation was suspended for two hours today (March 31) as a foil paper got stuck with its electrical wires.
The first train was scheduled to run at 7:10 am today, but it started after 8:45 am, according to a source from the Dhaka Mass Transit Company Limited (DMTCL).
DMTCL sources also said that during the morning storm, a foil paper flew and got stuck on the overhead catenary somewhere between Bijoy Sarani and Farmgate stations. It takes less time to remove it but it takes about an hour if the maintenance team is not there at that time.
Meanwhile, the passengers suffered due to the closure for two hours. Some of them uploaded their posts on social media in this regard.
One Zubair Shubo wrote at 8:30 am: " Metrorail closed since morning".
Another person named Mahafuzul Karim wrote, "Metrorail is closed. Take alternative measures."
Motijheel passenger Rabiul Islam said: "I went to Uttara Uttar station in the morning and saw that there was no train. Then I was told about the mechanical fault."
