Robber lynched in Sylhet

SYLHET: A ‘robber’ was killed and two others were injured in a mob-beat in Umonpur village under Jaintapur upazila of the district early Sunday.

The deceased was identified as Abul, 25.

Local sources told banglanews that a group of robbers came for a robbery at a house of the village around 2:30am.

Sensing their presence, villagers chased them and caught two of the robbers and beat them black and blue.

Latter, they were sent to Sylhet Osmani Medical College Hospital (SOMCH) where Abul died around 7:00am.

In the morning, villagers’ caught another robber and beat him and handed over to the thana.

Officer-in-Charge of Jaintiapur Thana Harun-ur-Rashid confirmed the matter to banglanews.
