Heat wave may continue for next 5/6 days: Met Office

The prevailing mild, moderate and severe heat wave may continue for five to six days more across the country, according to the Bangladesh Meteorological Department.

Meteorologist Dr. Muhammad Abul Kalam Mallik of the Bangladesh Meteorological Department confirmed the news on Thursday (April 4) morning.

A mild to moderate heat wave is sweeping over Rajshahi, Dhaka and Khulna divisions and it may spread. Due to the increase of moisture incursion, the discomfort may increase, said the met office.

Besides, rain or thundershowers accompanied by temporary gusty or squally wind is likely at one or two places over Mymensingh and Sylhet divisions and the districts of Kishoreganj and  Brahmanbaria with hails at isolated places.

The weather may remain mainly dry with a temporary partly cloudy sky elsewhere over the country.

Day temperature may rise slightly and night temperature may remain nearly unchanged over the country.
