Manager of Sonali Bank's Ruma branch in Bandarban Nezam Uddin, who was abducted, has been rescued by Rapid Action Battalion today (April 4).

RAB Legal and Media Wing Director Commander Khandaker Al Moin confirmed the matter to Banglanews.

Meanwhile, all activities of Sonali Bank in three upazilas of Bandarban have been temporarily closed for security reasons. 

In Bandarban, three out of seven branches of Sonali Bank remained closed on Thursday considering the risk.

The branches are Ruma, Thanchi and Roangchhari. Customers of these branches can transact from other branches. Sonali Bank's Bandarban Sadar branch was closed on Wednesday after two consecutive days of attacks by armed men.

Sources said members of armed group abducted Nezam Uddin failing to get cash from his branch.
