At least two people were killed and two hundred houses were shattered by a sudden storm in Bhola and Lalmohon of Barishal.

The deceased were identified as Hares, 68, and Bacchu, 40.

Besides, there is information that a fishing trawler with six fishermen sank in Das area of Monpura.

According to locals, at least 100 houses were damaged in Daserhat of Hazir Hat Union of Monpura and at various places of South Sakuchia Union at 12 noon. 

Meanwhile, a trawler with six fishermen sank while fishing in the Meghna River of Daser Hat. However, with the help of another trawler, everyone was immediately rescued, but the trawler was not found. Also, more than two hundred houses were destroyed in the storm, said locals.

Bhola District Commissioner Arifuzzaman confirmed the matter. 

He said the family of the deceased will be given Tk 25 thousand in cash each. 

Besides, immediate allocation of 16 tons of rice has been given in three affected upazilas, he said, adding “We are preparing the list of storm victims.”
