‘No bend-down to int’l pressure’

DHAKA: Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina, also Awami League president, on Sunday said categorically said her government would not bow-down to international pressure.

The premier came up with the assertion while talking to journalists at Bangabhaban after taking oath as prime minister in the afternoon.

She said, “Sheikh Hasina never submitted her to anyone and will not bow down to any pressure in the future.”

Regarding war crimes trial, she said the trial is underway and it would continue.

Sheikh Hasina also talked on dialogue with BNP and other parties, she said, “The government is ready to hold talks with BNP if they scythe down relations with anti-liberation force Jamaat-e-Islami.”

While talking about mutual understanding and unsettled issues with neighboring India, she said, “We will try to resolve the much-talked-issues like Teesta water sharing agreement and land boundary treaty by bilateral talks.”
