DHAKA: President M Abdul Hamid on Wednesday urged the political parties to reach in consensus through dialogue with the government by shunning the path of violence.
The President came up with the plea while addressing Parliament at first session of the 10th parliament.
He said, “I urge all political parties those boycotted the 10th parliamentary polls to make a consensus by shunning the path of confrontation and anarchy.”
He said the political terrorism in the name of movement for changing the election procedure couldn’t bring welfare to the country rather, it plunged the political environment into darkness.
President said the elected government handed over power to another elected government by upholding the constitution.
Abdul Hamid also urged the countrymen to be vigilant and alert so that the progress of democracy can continue.
