Eleven more members of Myanmar Border Guard Police (BGP) entered Bangladesh through the Teknaf border of Cox's Bazar, seeking refuge amidst the ongoing conflict in the neighboring country on Friday (April 19).
According to official sources the BGP members entered Bangladesh, crossing the Naf River, and surrendered to the Bangladesh Coast Guard (BCG).
Earlier on Thursday, 13 members of the BGP entered Bangladesh through the Teknaf border and took refuge amid the prevailing unrest in Myanmar.
Later, the Coast Guard handed them over to the Naikhongchhari Battalion of the Border Guard of Bangladesh (11 BGB).
With this, the number of BGP men taking refuge in Bangladesh stood at 285, said the source.
Meanwhile, a foreign ministry source said that Dhaka will send the Myanmar security personnel back on 22 April by ship.
