RANGPUR: Bodies of two Jamaat-Shibir men were exhumed in Pirgachha Upazila of the district on Saturday morning.

The deceased were Shibir leader Merazul Islam, 22 and Jamaat leader Hadiuzzaman, 36.

Police sources said that on January 4, the Jamaat-Shibir men attacked Pirgachha Upazila voting center and set fire. Then police opened fire to bring the situation under control, leaving the two Jamaat-Shibir men killed.

Later, the bodies were exhumed after 40 days in the presence of executive magistrate Mizanur Rahman and sent to Rangpur Medical College morgue.

Pirgachha Thana Officer-in-Charge (Investigation) Atiar Rahman confirmed the matter to banglanews.
