At least six people were killed and 13 others injured as a dump truck engaged in border road work plunged into a ditch in Udaipur ninty degree area of Sajek in Baghaichhari upazila of Rangamati.

The deceased and injured could not be identified immediately.

Baghaichhari Upazila Executive Officer (UNO) Shirin Akhtar confirming the matter said that the accident happened on Wednesday (April 24) afternoon.

UNO said law enforcement agencies are on the way to the accident scene. However, it takes time to reach the scene as it’s a remote area.

Sajek Union Parishad (UP) member Atulal Tanchangya said there were 17 construction workers in a car. Several were injured when the vehicle lost control over its steering and fell into a ditch at Udaipur border area.
