Three newly appointed judges of the Appellate Division of the Supreme Court took oath on Thursday morning (April 25).
The three judges are Justice Muhammad Abdul Hafiz, Justice Md Shahinur Islam and Justice Kashefa Hussain.
Chief Justice Obaidul Hassan administered the oath to the judges at the Supreme Court Judges' Lounge. Supreme Court Registrar Md Golam Rabbani conducted the oath taking ceremony.
On Wednesday, President Mohammed Shahabuddin made the appointments of the judges, in accordance with Article 95(1) of the Constitution, by elevating them from the High Court Division to the Appellate Division.
With the latest appointments, the number of Appellate Division judges now stands at eight.
