ACC quizzes ex-state minister Mahbubur

DHAKA: Anti-Corruption Commission (ACC) on Sunday has quizzed former state Minister for water resources Mahbubur Rahman, also Member of Parliament from Patuakhali-4 constituency, for the allegation of earning wealth illegally.

Deputy Director of ACC Khairul Huda interrogated him at Anti-Corruption commission headquarters in the capital from 11:15am.

According to affidavit submitted by Mahbubur Rahman, the former minister possessed 865 acres land during last five years which was 20 acres previously. Besides, he earned huge money illegally.

On 2008, he has seven sources of income from which he earned Tk 2.15 lakhs yearly. But now he becomes owner and trader of fishery from which he earns Tk 1.50 crore in a year.
