Portfolio distributed among cabinet members

DHAKA: A total of 48 members, including ministers, state ministers and deputy ministers of the new cabinet, were sworn in on Sunday afternoon.

President M Abdul Hamid administered the oath at Bangabhaban, official residence cum office of the president, around 3:45pm.

Immediate after the oath, a gazette notification on portfolio distribution among new cabinet members was published at the evening.

As per the gazette, the ministers are AMA Muhith for Finance Ministry, Amir Hossain Amu for Ministry for Industries, Tofail Ahmed for Ministry of Commerce, Nurul Islam Nahid for Ministry of Education , Hasanul Haq Inu for Ministry of Information, Khandaker Mosharraf for Ministry of Expatriates Welfare and Overseas Employment, Syed Ashraful Islam for Ministry of Local Government-Rural Development and Co-operatives, Shahjahan for  Khan Ministry of Shipping, Mohammad Nasim for     Ministry of Health and Family Welfare, Syed Mohsin Ali for Ministry of Social Welfare, Professor Matiur Rahman Ministry of Religious Affairs, Motiya Chowdhury for Ministry of Agriculture , Obaidul Quader Ministry of Communications, Rashed Khan Menon Ministry of Civil Aviation and Tourism, Asaduzzaman Nur for Ministry of Cultural Affairs, Abul Kalam Azad, Advocate Anisul Haque Ministry of Law, Justice and Parliamentary Affairs, Anwar Hossaion Manju for Ministry of Environment and Forest, Mostafizur Rahman Fizar Ministry of Primary and Mass Education, Engineer Mosharraf Hossain Ministry of Housing and Public Works, Mojibul Haque Chunnu for Ministry of Labour & Employment, Shamsur Rahman Sharif for Ministry of Land, AHM Mostafa Kamal and Abdul Latif Sidiqui Ministry of Posts and Tele-Communications, AKM Mojammel Haque for  Ministry of Liberation War Affairs Advocate Quamrul Islam for Ministry of Food, Md Saiyedul Haque got portfolio for fisheries and livestock ministry, Imaj Uddin Paramanik Jute and Textile, Mofazzal Hossain Chowdhury Maya for Disaster Management and Relief Ministry, Mujibul Haque got the railway Ministry.

The state ministers are Yeafesh Osman (science and technology), MA Mannan (finance), Mirza Azam (textile and jute), Promod Mankin (social welfare) ,Narayan Chandra Chanda (fisheries and livestock), Bir Bahadur (hill tracts), Biren Shikder for youth and sports; Asaduzzaman Khan (home ministry), Saifuzzaman Chowdhury (land), Ismat Ara Sadek (primary and mass education), Meher Afroz (women and children affairs); Md Shahriar Alam(foreign), Zahid Malek (health and family planning), Nasrul Hamid (power and energy) and Zunayed Ahmed Palak (ICT) are from the AL.    

The deputy ministers are Abdullah Al Islam Jekob (water resources) and Arif Kahn Joy (youth and sports).

Besides, deputy ministers are Arif Khan Joy and Abdullah Al Islam Jacob.

A total of 31 new faces joined the cabinet with some of those who performed their role as the ministers of the polls-time government.

Of them, 29 full ministers, 17 state ministers and two deputy ministers took the oath.
