DHAKA: Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina paid homage to martyrs of the liberation war by placing floral wreaths to national mausoleum at Savar, on outskirts of the capital, on Tuesday morning.
The premier along with cabinet members and high-officials of civil and military administration paid the tribute at around 11:00am.
It is her first visit to the national mausoleum after formation of new government and took office for third time as prime minister of Bangladesh.
Hundreds of leaders-activists Awami League and its associate organizations led-by party Lawmaker from Dhaka-19 constituency Dr Enam, also founder of Savar Enam Medical College, along with welcomed the primer standing two sides of her way to mausoleum.
Earlier on Monday afternoon, PM’s deputy press secretary Ashraful Alam Khokon confirmed banglanews about tribute paying by the prime minister.
Besides, the PM paid tribute to central Shaheed minar, portrait of Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman.
