SATKHIRA: A Shibir leader was killed and few others injured as Chhatra Shibir activists locked into gunfight with joint forces in Debohata of Satkhira at 9:30am Tuesday.

The deceased was identified as Anwarul, 25, son of Hannan Gazi, resident of Nangla village. He was accused in 13 cases including Debohata Upazila Awami League Organizing Secretary Rayhan murder case.

Witnesses said that joint forces started a drive to arrest accused. Later Shibir men blasted cocktails and opened fire at joint forces to prevent them. Law enforcers also opened fire for defense, leaving one killed.

Officer-in-Charge of Debohata Thana Tarok Biswas confirmed the matter.
