School girl among 2 killed in Bagerhat

BAGERHAT: Two people, including a school girl, were killed and three others injured in a road accident in Badhalbazar under Kachua upazila of the district on Thursday morning.

The deceased were identified as Farzana Akter, 13, a class-VIII student upazila’s BK high school and Alamin Sheik, 37, driver of a battery-run van.

The injured were- Alhajuddin Shikh, father of Farzana Akter, Minara Begum and Shimul Chakrabartty.

Kachua Thana officer-in-Charge Abu Zihad said to banglanews that a Pirojpur-bound BRTC bus knocked a battery-run-van from behind at around 10:00am, leaving Farzana dead on the spot and injured four others.

Later, the auto-rickshaw driver died on the way to hospital.

The injured were sent to Bagerhat Sadar Hospital and Khulna Medical College Hospital.
