MYMENSINGH:  Five people were killed as a passenger bus plunged into a roadside ditch at Beltoli under Gouripur upazila of the district on Thursday noon.

Four deceased were identified as Rahimuddin, 45, Belal Uddin 35, Nizam Uddin 40 and Montu, 70 of Sherpur district.

The passenger bus plunged into a roadside ditch when it wanted side to another bus, leaving five people dead on the spot.

Gouripur thana Officer-in-Charge Hamidul Islam confirmed the matter to banglanews.  

The death toll from the accident may rise, the OC added.
